When the Motown/soul movement swept through America, Michigan felt the breeze intensely. Even for the small town, a records store was absolutely necessary. It's barely been retouched since it's inception, save for weather damage. The basement is a fully equipped recording studio.

When Ardor Bay was still trying to keep as condensed and unassuming as possible, the only place to get a decent meal was the kitchen corner of this odd two-story warehouse/office. The building was incognito for the longest time. Then as more families started cutting out a corner of the warehouse for their own mini versions of a mom-and-pop restaurant, it seemed to be the town's restaurant outlet. The building was renovated and done-up, and residents tend to come weekly and eat from a different vendor's menu each day. Different places have come and go, but the staples have always been Luigi's Pizza, The Appletree Diner, Big Ben's Breakfast Bar (or BBBB).

The White Fang has been around for God knows how long, gone through many owners, and seen several changes in clientele over the years. Now it's known around town for a great place to get a drink, find someone to take home, and possibly get into a tussle in the parking lot. It's a frequent haunt for the Willcox pack, but all packs are welcome -- so long as they don't cause a ruckus. However, accost an unwilling omega in this joint and you'll find yourself out on your ass and likely in handcuffs.

La Luna, Ardor Bay's premiere nightclub, came from this need. The Purple Rose was unsurprisingly one of the most upkept building in the town, despite being one of the oldest. After the war, and when many of the more unscrupulous new arrivals found their residence in the town despite the judgement of the founding locals, the club which had been previously been small and on the verge of failing found a sudden resurgence. The place tends to waft a sweet aroma for a reason never fully explained. Perhaps because the innate pheromones in the large room and private party areas are constantly wafting.

The bookstore boasts a wide selection of books for kids and young adults—in addition to a well-curated section of fiction and nonfiction books for grownups. The store also hosts book clubs and events.

The Forest

The city is surrounded by a wide expanse of forest, nearly always populated. Teenagers tend to use places in the expanse for parties and hangouts, as the lush trees provide excellent cover when the authorities end up busting any large events. A section of the forest is rumored to be haunted by ghosts and wendigos, but thankfully it remains just a rumor.
